Electrical Works Throughout Flats

We were successful at tender stage and nominated as the electrical sub-contractor, to carry out works throughout communal areas and within individual’s flats.

We helped with the refurbishment on four levels at Pudding Lane, Maidstone, working closely with the main contractor, Faithdean PLC.

Our challenge was to keep the building operational, as the majority of the flats were to remain occupied and we had to minimise the disruption to tenants.

We initially installed temporary lighting in the corridors, staircases and lobby areas. The main installation consisted of the following:

• Installing new distribution boards and maintaining existing boards
• Installation of new steel wire armoured, sub-main cabling
• The design and installation of wall and ceiling mounted LED luminaires (including emergency) and perimeter LED strip lighting, operated by daylight and motion sensors
• Installation of socket outlets to communal areas, as well as the Concierge’s station on the ground floor
• Installation of full wireless fire alarm system, including power supplies to 3 fire alarm panels and multiple remote cluster controllers
• Full testing/commissioning of electrical installation, emergency lighting and fire alarm system
• The provision of a 438 page O&M Manual, handed to the client, upon completion of works
• Full and partial rewire of some of the individual’s flats and Electrical Condition Report of others
• Subsequent repairs within flats, following EICR’s

This project value was over £180,000 and works were completed over 18 months in 2018/2019.
