Electrical Works in Technology College

We were successful at the tender stage and nominated as the Electrical Sub-Contractor, to carry out the electrical works to the Ground and First Floor Science Labs/Rooms. We also were successful with the tender for the replacement lighting to the Sports Hall.

We helped with the refurbishment works to the Science Labs/Rooms and Sports Hall having to work closely with the Main Contractor, Bauvill Ltd.

The main challenge of this project was the amount of work that needed to be completed within a six week programme.

The main installation consisted of the following:

• Disconnect, remove and make safe existing electrical circuits
• Installation of new bench sockets connected to the Gas Safe System to all Science Labs/Rooms
• Installation of new data outlets to all Science Labs/Rooms
• Design and installation of ceiling grid LED light panels including emergency lighting to all Science Labs/Rooms operated by motion sensors
• Design and installation of Sports Hall LED lighting
• Alteration to Fire Alarm System – relocation and additional smoke detectors
• Full testing/commissioning of electrical installation, emergency lighting, fire alarm and issue NICEIC Certificates
• O & M details handed to Main Contractor

This project value was in the region of £85,000.00 and works were completed over six weeks in 2018.
